This House is a set of songs written during a confusing and formative time around 2007-8.

The title track, "This House" was written and recorded while living in the home of my very kind, patient, and lovely girlfriend at the time. She was leaving to further her education and I was left to my own unhealthy devices in the top floor of her parent's house for several months. Her family had taken me in during a time of self destruction. They showed me kindness I had never received until that point. I am forever grateful to them for having faith in a kid who spent hours playing guitar in the garage. The family left a mark on me that I will carry forever and this song is meant to capture that. Another lament calling out to a loved one because I didn't know how to speak the words at the time.

"Roadside Bomb" was written and recorded during the hazy, speedy, and icy winter of 2007-8. I met a beautiful girl who was a musical prodigy and we'd spend many an afternoon in the back of her car listening to Sonic Youth, smoking cigarettes, and writing songs. I loved her and those moments will never leave me. This song is meant to capture the cold Texas breezes, grey skies, warm backseats, and excited feelings while driving home after connecting with someone in a new way.
